GIUFÀ
In Sicilian folklore, there is a series of stories passed down by the cantatorie (storytellers) that feature a character referred to as a "Giufà". A Giufà is often represented as a foolish young boy that is ignorant to the ways of the world around him. Mischievous, yet innocent, the young fool's missteps and misunderstandings are typically, and comically, rewarded through his curious demeanor and naivety.
